One Saturday, Jerry and I decided to go to Jinshan since the weather was super nice. We've visited this place several times, however each time feels completely different. It's still beautiful as always, yet the way we see things may change from time to time, from different perspectives or due to the current mood change. There was way more people than the last time we went, bringing the place somehow a little bit more lively. Families, friends and couples, playing around the seashore, taking photos and chatting around, we just sat on a rock and watched people passing by with all smiles on their faces, feeling calm and easy.
Photo diary-Trip to the Southern Taiwan in February.
Highlights of the 2 day trip:
1. Jerry accidentally got stuck in the mud and took a long time trying to get out of it. Stay caution and full alert of your next step while walking in the wild.
2. Found an adorable puppy with his mother licking him around, and watching over him wherever he goes.
3. Went to the mountains where there were tons of monkeys walking around, never challenge a monkey and be aware of your belongings ;p
The first mountain I climbed up to was Yushan, which is the highest mountain(3952m) in Taiwan. According to many hikers on the internet, Yushan was like the basic level and we thought it would be a good start for us beginners. The total journey was 2 days 2 nights, and for someone who had never carried this heavy and walked for this long, it was as tough as I had imagined.
In the first couple of hours, I still managed to smile and taking photos along as we walked. The weather was sunny with a blue clear sky, the scenery was so amazing and it was very quiet, only the sound of nature and your footsteps. Gradually I started to feel the tiredness, my mind was blank and I just walked, eyes on the footsteps ahead of me. To be honest, on the way the thought of “Why am I here?” “I should’ve stayed home …blahblahblah constantly popped out of mind. However after we reached Paiyun Lodge, which was where we would be sleeping during the night, I finally get to put down that heavy backpack and ran around discovering the beauty from every angle on top. We found a platform to sit and watch the cloud movements and sunset, pigs were even spotted to our surprise having dinner beneath us.
Early 2 oclock in the morning, we woke up and started climbing up towards the peak. It was absolutely dark, our vision was totally depending on the head lights. I remember it was freezing, and our hands were all stiffed. After a rough climbing process using both hands and feet, we finally reached the peak. We stood there, watching the sun slowing rising, at that moment you realised that everything was worth witnessing that view, nothing could describe how much I felt at that time.
On the first day of 2017, we left early morning from the cold winter and flew to Bangkok on holidays. This was our first time in Thailand, therefore we just wandered everywhere on the streets, visit places that just sudden popped in mind and simply enjoyed! We also spent 2 days and went to a nearby island named Ko Sichang. The island is quiet and with beautiful sceneries, also be aware of pigs walking on the streets. We really loved the island atmosphere, definitely worth the visit.
