That island trip

Being in a hustling bustling city where there’s always filled with people, sometimes makes me miss even more about the trips to the islands where it’s quiet and the inner calmness that it brings you after each journey. You hear the sounds of nature, wind blowing, sea waves and birds chirping…

Koh Chang in Thailand, it was such a beautiful island, and I remember how relaxed we were, everyday we would walk to the beach, enjoy the magical sunset, canoeing out on the sea with coconuts for an small adventure, snorkel and swim pass fishes in the crystal clear water. All the walks without really needing a planned destination, completely spontaneous. The answer to the question “What do you want to do today?” would always be “Let’s go to the beach!” “Let’s go eat Pad Thai!” “Let’s just walk around and find out…” Miss it so much right now.

Sweaty Weather goes to Sweater Weather

It’s that time of year when the summer heat transitions to chilly autumn and I am really excited since this is the first time I would be spending the season in New York, cant’t wait to see the leaves change colours and the park lights up by the orange and red.

Mix and match of different season clothes is also fun, either a tank top with a laid back style cardigan and skirt or a a knit sweater with shorts, pair it up with a pair of ankle boots and I’m ready to go! (There are way too many items on my wish list right now oh my...!)

MAY10

Hydrangea, like walking into a garden filled with different colours of candy, making contrast with the foggy/cloudy weather.

MAY03

The sun showed up after three days of rain, the sky was blue with clouds lightly brushing over like paint.

There were so many people at the flower market that morning, I wandered around booth by booth, I was like a kid walking in a candy shop, drawn to all the the colours, asking the owner what kind of flower is this and that. I walked out with some pink and yellow flowers

Floral Season

It's about that time of the year when the light colours pop out, flowers blooming and the breeze blowing on your face reminding you that it's spring. While shopping online, I just couldn't help but click into every spring must have checklists, floral items and dresses.

Reorganizing my closet and found this dress for Mango which my mom gave me last summer, I love the ruffles details and subtle colour-

ROUTE 1

Two days before our trip back home, it was cloudy that Sunday morning and rain was expected that day, however when we arrived at Getty Center, the clouds cleared out and it was bright again as any other LA typical day. Getty Center is a really enjoyable with its stunning exhibitions, unique architecture and especially what I loved most was the beautiful Central Garden and the Cactus Garden, where you could also overlook the city.

After visiting Getty Center, we thought about also visiting Getty villa which was located on the Malibu Coast. However while driving along Route 1, we changed our minds and decided to go for El Matador State Beach at Malibu. When we arrived, we were both mesmerised by the breathtaking coastal view from up above before walking down to the beach. The place was quiet and relaxing, people reading books, seagulls stealing snacks and friends having fun. We strolled along the beach, listening to the sound of waves and waited for the sunset.

While heading back, we made another quick decision to get off at Santa Monica beach for dinner. Although Santa Monica Beach was considered too touristy for many, I still enjoyed the lively vibes, the lights of Pacific Park during nighttime, street performances and music while walking along 3rd Street Promenade.

TFAM

Visited the exhibition at Taipei Fine Arts Museum last week with dear friend Filomena, there were many exhibitions that day it was fun walking through each section with extremely different vibes. You fall into a zone that the artists had created, trying to understand the message in which the artworks were trying to convey. We observe, think and interpret, There were also many interactive art in the exhibition, allowing the visitors to play with and walk through, which I really enjoyed. The experience was so much different than simply just observing an artwork outside the glass and lines, it leaves a an impact that was so much more.

Hidden dress

Recently I've been flipping out all my clothes from wardrobe or "Black Hole" as my mom would call it. Each year when another season arrives, I would always have the idea of cleaning out the closet, throw out the things that would no longer fit me or I wouldn't wear anymore, however I always failed at doing so. I would often be like "Hmm maybe I'll wear it someday sometime again..."..no I won't. I've decided to change that, so I got a booth at the flee market during weekends to sell out my years of collection! Below is one of the dresses that I've had for years yet never found the occasion to wear it. Sooo I decided to take some photos with it before giving it away ;p

Travel-Summer walk

One Saturday, Jerry and I decided to go to Jinshan since the weather was super nice. We've visited this place several times, however each time feels completely different. It's still beautiful as always, yet the way we see things may change from time to time, from different perspectives or due to the current mood change. There was way more people than the last time we went, bringing the place somehow a little bit more lively. Families, friends and couples, playing around the seashore, taking photos and chatting around, we just sat on a rock and watched people passing by with all smiles on their faces, feeling calm and easy.
